Owner & CEO of Musketeer Mortgage | Veteran | Mortgage Educator
From Military Leadership to Mortgage Education

I founded Musketeer Mortgage to create the kind of mortgage company I believed homebuyers deserved—one built on education, transparency, integrity, and clear communication.
Before entering the mortgage industry, I served more than 22 years in the United States Army. I began my career as an enlisted soldier, achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class, later earned a commission, and retired as a Major. During that career, I also had the privilege of teaching English at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
After retiring from the Army, I worked as an Operations Manager at Amazon, where I focused on leadership, process improvement, and solving complex operational problems. Those experiences now shape the way I approach mortgage lending: understand the problem, explain the options clearly, and build a practical path forward.
Today, I use that combination of leadership, teaching, and mortgage experience to help homebuyers understand one of the most important financial decisions they will ever make.

Published Academic Work
Earlier in my career, I co-authored the peer-reviewed article The Army and the Academy as Textual Communities: Exploring Mismatches in the Concepts of Attribution, Appropriation, and Shared Goals, published in Kairos: A Journal of Rhetoric, Technology, and Pedagogy.
The article examines how military and academic communities approach authorship, collaboration, attribution, and intellectual ownership differently. Since its publication, it has been cited in subsequent scholarship on writing studies, plagiarism, text recycling, cadet writing, and military education. It has also been referenced by the National Defense University Press in a discussion of writing integrity and professional military education.
Education-First Mortgage Guidance
I believe borrowers make better decisions when they understand not only what they qualify for, but why a loan works and how it may affect them long term. My role is to explain the options clearly, answer questions honestly, and help each client choose a mortgage that fits both their immediate needs and their broader financial goals.
That approach is especially important when a loan involves self-employment, government financing, unusual property issues, appraisal concerns, or other circumstances that do not fit neatly into a standard checklist. I enjoy working through complex scenarios, identifying practical solutions, and making the process feel manageable.
At Musketeer Mortgage, that philosophy is reflected in our C.A.R.E. standards: Communication, Action, Relationships, and Expertise. Clients should always know what is happening, what comes next, and why it matters.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, golfing, reading, and spending time outdoors. Continued learning has always been important to me, both personally and professionally, and it remains a central part of how I lead Musketeer Mortgage and serve my clients.
